NEET youth rate

In recent years, the percentage of young people aged 15 to 29 who are not employed nor included in education/training (NEET)in Italy has remained at high values: from 23.2% in 2018 to 19.0% in 2022.
In the 8 regions of Southern Italy in 2018 it was 33.6% and in 2022 it registered a value of 27.9%.

Adults in lifelong learning

In recent years, the percentage of adults aged 25 to 64 who attend a course of study or vocational training in Italy grew from 8% in 2018 to 10% in 2022.
In the South regions in 2018 it was 5.9% and in 2022 it reached 7.8%.

Since 2007 up to today, the value of projects monitored and supported by cohesion policies for Education and training has exceeded 18 billion euros, out of which over 9 billion concern projects financed in the 2014-2020 programming period.
