In recent years, the number of employed people in relation to the population aged 15-64 in Italy has risen from 58.5% in 2018 to 60.1% in 2022.
In the 8 regions of Southern Italy in 2018 it was 44.5% and in 2022 it reached the value of 46.7%.

Female entrepreneurship
The share of women-owned sole proprietorships in Italy grew from 25.4% in 2000 to 26.7% in 2022.
In the South, where values above the national average are registered, the percentage goes from 26.2% in 2000 to 27.5% in 2022.

Since 2007 up to today, the value of projects monitored and supported by the cohesion policies for Employment and work has exceeded 23 billion euros, out of which over 14 billion concern projects financed in the 2014-2020 programming period.
