Biodiversity in National Parks and cohesion policies: a Data Card

May 22 is International Biodiversity Day. The initiative is promoted by the Convention on Biological Diversity, signed by 150 government leaders at the Earth Summit organized by the United Nations held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and dedicated at promoting sustainable development. In the framework of the Convention ratified in 1994, Italy has developed a National Strategy for Biodiversity.

This year the theme of the International Biodiversity Day is "From agreement to action: rebuilding biodiversity" and implies the idea that it's not too late ("it's not too late to") to start concrete actions. Cohesion policy projects in Italy described in this Data Card focus on five projects financed to support the entities that manage five different national parks, from North to South.
