“Europe Award”: The Back to Bike Team on a mission to Brussels

During the final event ASOC2122 held on 06/06/2022 at the M9 Museum, the winner of the Europe Award - Back to the Bike team of the High School F. Vivona in Rome was announced by Minister Carfagna. The award consists of a trip to Brussels offered by the European Commission Representation in Italy for having carried out the civic monitoring process entirely in English in a committed and effective way.

The Back to Bike team spent two days in the capital of Europe - Brussels, to learn more about the history of the European Union and get to know better European institutions.

During the first day, on 9th June, the students of the Team and their teachers visited the Parlamentarium, the visitor center of the European Parliament where they had the opportunity to live the interactive and multimedia experience, while on the second day of 10th June they had the opportunity to make an information visit to the European Commission welcomed by public servants who provided the lesson on functioning of the European institutions dedicated to the Team..

The Team also illustrated its civic monitoring research of the project relating to the extension of the Roman cycle network, talked on the issues of cohesion policies with the employees of DG REGIO and acui from the "source" all the opportunities for training, cooperation and mobility made available to younger citizens, especially in 2022, the European year of youth.
