OpenCoesione Goes to School a Featured Guest at Libri Come

On 16 March (from 11 AM to noon), as part of Open Government Week, OpenCoesione Goes to School (ASOC), a project of innovative learning and civic monitoring, is to be a featured guest at Libri Come, a festival of books and reading held at Parco della Musica in Rome.

The overarching theme for the initiative in 2019 is freedom and will feature a discussion on the topic of “Freedom and Engagement”, including a presentation of the ASOC experience in civic monitoring from 2013 to today, experience that has seen both students and instructors engaged in data journalism, with activities ranging from the analysis of open data regarding public spending to modern techniques of storytelling through video, charts and figures, and other media.

The discussion, which is open to the public and free of charge, will include the participation of Italian representatives of the European Commission, which is a partner in the ASOC project, and Team MURO, a class of students who conducted a study into the financing of a job orientation centre for former inmates as part of the 2017-2018 edition of ASOC.
