OpenCoesione, Open Government Partnership & Ministry of Health of the Republic of North Macedonia

18/11/2021

On 18th November 2021, from 12 to 13:30 o’clock will be taking place online a peer initiative promoted by Open Government Partnership - OGP and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of North Macedonia that will focus on the open government in the health sector in order to set the path for  North Macedonia's commitment in OGP action plan.

The event foresees the active participation of the OpenCoesione initiative identified in the OGP framework for being best practice in open government in relation to the citizens’ participation in projects financed with public funds. Thus the presentation will focus on the operations related to the Health sector in the framework of cohesion policies in Italy, in particular the activities and specific in-depth studies carried out by the OpenCoesione team (i.e Data Card - Citizens’ health).

Since the reuse of open data and civic participation on health-related topics were at the center of civic monitoring research carried out by students in the “At the School of OpenCohesion (ASOC)" project, the presentation that will follow-up will illustrate several cases of monitored projects directly or indirectly related to health (e.g. research and innovation projects on biotechnology, social inclusion projects for frail people, etc.), highlighting at the same time also the importance of Monithon initiative and its platform.

The event is promoted by the Minister of Health of North Macedonia with the aim of acquainting about other European experiences, addressing and managing the current problems related to COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will be opened by a responsible of the OGP Pandemic Action Network, and will see the contributions of the participants strongly focused on the open government topics, such as for instance access to health services, dialogue with citizens, planning the health expenditure, innovative public procurement procedures for the purchasing of goods and services.
