OpenCoesione in the A Brave New Europe video

01/08/2022

Over the last 12 months, OpenCoesione has supported the editorial staff of A Brave New Europe, a Slow News and Second Welfare Paths project aimed at bringing people closer to the cohesion policy of the European Union in Italy starting from two questions: what is the European cohesion policy? Why does it concern you and why should you know about it?

From September 2021 to July 2022, ten reportages, analysis and in-depth articles were published on themes and problems of territorial disparities that are addressed in Italy thanks to the resources of cohesion policy, from educational poverty to housing, from the ecological transition to regeneration. urban.

The OpenCoesione portal has been identified as one of the privileged sources of this journalistic project of research and reporting on cohesion policies. In the glossary, for example, we read: "On the Open Cohesion website, for example, there is a map with all the projects funded. At the moment (June 2022) over 1 million and 700 thousand projects are monitored".

The last act of the project is a video story on cohesion policies, which was published in July 2022. It can be seen integrally on the YouTube page of A Brave New Europe.

OpenCoesione is the protagonist of some clips of the video, with an interview recorded in the office that hosts the team:
08:55 What is OpenCoesione
09:33 Where do the financial resources for European Cohesion Policies come from and how much money is allocated
11:15 Who are the beneficiaries of the European Cohesion Policies
19:28 OpenCoesione, the three pillars of open government and knowledge of data for active control over funds by citizens
22:10 The communication of the European Union and citizens' perceptions
27:45 Should the European Union change its communication to citizens and its way of talking about itself?
